Johnson County, MO — A packed school bus crossed the median and collided with a car Friday afternoon, February 3, 2012, injuring four people. The school bus accident occurred just three miles west of Warrensburg, just before 4 p.m. along Missouri Highway 50, reported KMBC.
Witnesses reported that the Crest Ridge School District bus, which was carrying 28 students, crossed the median and slammed into a car, causing the bus to land partially in a ditch.
It is unknown at this time what caused the bus to cross the median, leading to the accident.
Two students were transported in private vehicles to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. Two people in the car were also injured and taken to the hospital. The extent of the victim’s injuries is unknown at this time.
Investigations into the school bus accident are underway. It was not reported if the school bus driver is facing any charges.
