Kentucky 41-Vehicle Pileup Crash Injures 8

Kenton County, KY — Snow showers likely were the cause of a 42-vehicle pileup that injured eight people and shut down southbound Interstate 75 on Monday, January 2, 2012, reports Fox News.

According to Kenton County police, 41 vehicles collided on Interstate 75 around 12:22 p.m., causing six people to be transported to area hospitals for injuries. Eight people in all were injured in the wrecks. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

The identities of those injured in the crash have not been revealed.

The pileup reportedly took place just north of Crittenden and south of Cincinnati.

The scene depicted cars strewn across the highway and on the shoulder with accumulated snow.

Police are investigating the cause of the multiple vehicle accident.
