Everett, WA — One person was rushed to the hospital after an apparent workplace accident, in which a fire was present at a substation at Boeing’s Everett plant. The workplace accident occurred around 11 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011, at a substation in the 4031 building on the Boeing complex, reports KOMO News.
A contract worker with Redmond’s Sequoyah Electric was reportedly working at the substation when the fire occurred.
Boeing’s fire crews were able to control the blaze quickly and administered aid to the victim until Everett medics arrived at the scene.
The cause of the fire or what exactly happened has not been released.
The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center for medical treatment of serious burns. He is reportedly listed in serious condition at this time.
The identity of the victim is being withheld while the family is being notified.
Boeing and the state Department of Labor and Industries are investigating the incident.
