Chicago, IL — About 165,000 Scoot ‘n Zoom children’s riding toy by Radio Flyer are being voluntarily recalled for fall hazards the product poses to young children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the product recall on August 16, 2011.

The nationwide product recall was issued after discovering that the riding toy can tip over, which can cause a child to fall forward while riding the toy. This poses a fall hazard to young children.

Radio Flyer has been alerted of 10 incidents that resulted in six injuries, which injured three reports of teeth being loosened or removed and three child lacerations that required stitches.

“The riding toy is red molded plastic with black wheels and measures 19 inches long, 11 inches wide and 13.5 inches tall. The riding toy’s model number 711 can be found molded on the underside of the toy. Units with a yellow UPC sticker underneath the product with model #711B are not recalled,” reported the CPSC.

Consumers are advised to contact Radio Flyer for a free replacement product or a refund.

For more information about the nationwide product recall, consumers can contact Radio Flyer at (800) 621-7613 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit www.radioflyer.com.
