Morrilton, AR — A building collapse in central Arkansas killed a young girl and injured several other people on Monday, May 16, 2011. The building collapsed in downtown Morrilton at around 7 p.m., reported CBS.
According to officials, someone had recently bought a closed store inside the building, which houses several businesses, and was replacing it with a photography studio. Officials believe that the supports may have collapsed during the remolding, causing the building to collapse.

A two-year-old girl was killed in the building collapse.
At least six others were injured and taken to area hospitals for treatment. Two victims were airlifted to area hospitals. One victim is in stable condition at St. Vincent, and three others are expected to arrive there soon for treatment.
Investigations into the accident are underway.
