Los Angeles, CA—New Live of Los Angeles, Calif. and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) voluntarily recalled about 6,700 men’s and women’s jackets for failure to meet the federal flammability standard. The CPSC announced the recall on February 17, 2011.

The product recall was initiated after becoming aware that the jackets fail to meet the federal flammability standard for apparel, which poses a fire hazard to consumers.

“The men’s jacket is corduroy and is fully lined with Sherpa fleece. It has a five-button front closure, two side pockets and two breast pockets. The style number is MV2156. Two styles of women’s jackets are subject to this recall. One is a zip-front jacket with two pockets, a hood lined with Sherpa fleece and a drawstring at the waist. The style number is WOY2443. The other is a belted, wrap jacket with a Sherpa fleece-lined collar. It has two side pockets and wide knit cuffs at the wrist. The style number is WOY2444. Each jacket is made of 100 percent cotton and was manufactured in various colors. A label with the style number is located on the side seam of the inside of the jackets,” according to the CPSC press release.

Consumers are advised to return the jackets to the place of purchase for a full refund.
