San Francisco, CA—A three-vehicle collision, involving a UC San Francisco shuttle bus, on Thursday, December 16, 2010, left six people injured. The automobile collision occurred at the intersection of Potrero Avenue and 22nd Street, at around 11:18 a.m., as reported by the San Francisco Examiner.
Police officials reported that a car was traveling southbound on Potrero Avenue, when the vehicle rear-ended another motorist, causing the second car to slam into the rear-end of the shuttle bus.
Responding emergency crews rushed the drivers of the two cars to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Four of the 12 passengers on the shuttle bus were also taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Andraychak said, “there was no sign of any impairment of the drivers and no indications of speeding. Police shut down Potrero Avenue between 21st and 22nd streets for at least an hour after the crash.”
Investigations into the crash are underway.
