Construction Worker Hit by Vehicle in Palm Desert; Suffers Major Injuries

Riverside County, AZ—Two people were hospitalized following a collision between a vehicle and a construction worker on a Palm Desert street on Wednesday morning, November 3, 2010. The automobile crash occurred on Holvey Lane East, just east of Cook Street at around 8:10 a.m., as reported by The Desert Sun.

According to police officials, a vehicle was traveling on eastbound Hovley Lane East, when the vehicle hit a construction worker and a work truck for unknown reasons.

The construction worker and the operator of the vehicle, who was only identified as a female, were rushed to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The construction worker is said to have suffered major but non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities are still looking into what led to the wreck. It did not appear that drugs and alcohol were factors.

A full investigation is underway.
