Tulsa, OK– A traffic accident near Sapulpa left an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper in serious condition, after the trooper’s cruiser was T-boned by a dump truck. The motor vehicle collision (MVC) occurred just after 2:30 p.m., on Oklahoma 97, as reported by Tulsa World.

According to OHP officials, Capt. George Green, 56, was entering Oklahoma 97 from the Turner Turnpike, when a southbound dump truck slammed into the driver’s side door of the trooper’s cruiser.

The collision trapped Green for several minutes before he was extracted by responding emergency rescue crews. Green was rushed to a Tulsa hospital for treatment of internal injuries and several broken bones. He is currently listed in “serious condition.”

It is not immediately known why the dump truck hit the patrol car.

Officials are conducting a full investigation into the two-vehicle accident. No charges have been filed or arrests have been made at this time.

Green has reportedly been an OHP trooper for 31 years.
