Kansas City, KS—A multiple fatality crash near the intersection of Leavenworth County Road 1 and Kansas Highway 32, left three people dead, including a KU student. The fatal crash occurred around 9 p.m., on Sunday night, October 10, 2010, as reported by LJWorld.
The Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2008 Subaru Impreza was traveling eastbound on K-32, when the driver tried to pass a 2009 Honda Odyssey, that was also traveling eastbound on K-32. While trying to pass the Honda slammed head-on with a westbound 2002 Saturn sedan.
The driver of the Impreza, Mathew Nuzik, 30, of Basehor, and two others in the Saturn, identified as Daniel Henry, 21, of Edwardsville, and 22-year-old KU student Stephanie Conn, of Lawrence, were killed in the crash.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Odyssey, 38-year-old Linwood resident Matthew Svoboda, was uninjured in the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
