Seattle, WA—A three-vehicle accident killed two people on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, in the Panther Lake area of Kent’s East Hill. The fatal crash occurred around 8:46 p.m., in the intersection of Southeast 208th Street and 108th Avenue Southeast, as reported by the Seattle Post Intelligencer.

Kent Police reported that a Kia was traveling northbound on 108th Avenue Southeast (Benson Highway) when the car attempted to make a left turn, and collided with a southbound Ford Explorer in the intersection. The impact caused the Kia to collide with an eastbound Mitsubishi sedan. All three vehicles involved in the wreck came to a stop alongside each other on the south side of the road.

Within minutes Kent police and firefighters arrived at the scene, where they extracted the two occupants of the Kia, a man and woman. The Kia came to a rest on its side. Sadly, the two occupants of the Kia were pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency rescue crews.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 31-year-old Renton man, was injured in the crash. However, the driver was arrested for a warrant charge unrelated to the accident.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a SeaTac man, was also uninjured in the wreck.

Officials are withholding the identities of the victims, until officials receive positive identification from the King County Medical Examiner.

A full investigation is underway.
