London, Kentucky – A Kentucky father was arrested after purportedly leaving his toddler inside of a parked hot car for over two hours. As reported by ABC News, Kenneth Robinson, 31, claimed the incident in which he forgot to take his son to daycare prior to going to work due to being distracted, was a “terrible mistake.”
As noted in the report, a co-worker of Robinson noticed the two-year-old was in the backseat of the vehicle, and called police. The child was taken to the hospital to be examined following the extended time spent in the vehicle in which the temperature had reached over 100 degrees.
The child’s father pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of wanton endangerment in court this week.
More than 30 children reportedly died of hypothermia in the country last year after being left in vehicles.
