Bellefonte, Pa. – Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky has been found guilty on multiple counts of child sexual molestation. As reported by Yahoo! Sports, a jury found Sandusky guilty on 45 to 48 counts stemming from sex abuse allegations from incidents that had purportedly taken place over a period of 15 years.

Eight victims testified in the trial. Prior to the verdict, one of Sandusky’s adopted sons, Matt Sandusky made claims against him as well.

Penn State is quoted in the report as releasing the statement after the verdict, “The Board of Trustees and current administration maintain a steadfast commitment to pursuing the truth regarding Mr. Sandusky’s actions…While we cannot change what happened, we can and do accept the responsibility to take action on the societal issue of child sexual abuse – both in our community and beyond.”

Sandusky faces a prison sentence of up to 442 years.
