Kennesaw, GA—Regal Lager Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada (HC), voluntarily recalled CYBEX 2.GO Infant Carriers. The CPSC announced the product safety recall on Thursday, June 17, 2010, with regard to a fall hazard the infant carriers may pose.

While approximately 2,700 infant carriers were affected by the recall in the United States, another 400 are included in Canada. The fall hazard stems from a defective shoulder strap slider buckle. If the buckle breaks, infants may run the risk of suffering fall-induced injuries.

Regal Lager received three reports of shattered buckles. Luckily, none of these instances resulted in injuries.

According to the CPSC, “This recall involves CYBEX 2.GO infant carriers. “CYBEX” is embroidered on the fabric covering on the top of the head support. “2.GO” is printed on an orange tag near the head support. They were sold in the following colors: chili, indigo, purple and slate.”

The recalled CYBEX 2.GO Infant Carriers were sold at baby furniture and infant product stores, as well as online, nationwide from August 2009 through April 2010. The infant carriers were manufactured in China and cost about $100.

Consumers who purchased the potentially dangerous baby carriers are urged to contact Regal Lager to receive a complimentary replacement carrier.

Regal Lager can be reached at (866) 678-8940 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET. Consumers may also refer to the company’s Web site at www.regallager.com/recalls or via e-mail at [email protected] for additional information concerning the recall.
