A train crash in Salt Lake County killed two Kentucky Fried Chicken managers.

Salt Lake City, UT—Four Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurant managers who were in Salt Lake County for training were involved in a fatal crash with a TRAX train on Thursday, March 11, 2010. Two people were killed and two others were injured when they collided with the train around 7:10 .m., at the railroad tracks on Central Avenue (about 105 West) near 4100 South, as reported by the Salt Lake Tribune.

Unified Police Department officials believe that the four people were headed to another KFC restaurant or possibly a competitor restaurant to observe, when the red four-door Chevrolet sedan drove around the crossing arm and subsequently collided with a TRAX train. The driver of the car, Alex Amundson, 21, of Fairview, and a backset passenger, Donald Callison, 18, of Monroe were tragically killed in the collision. The front seat passenger only identified as a 17 or 18-year-old girl, and another backseat passenger, a 19-year-old male, sustained serious injuries in the collision. The two surviving passengers were rushed to an area hospital for treatment, where they are expected to survive. The female has since been upgraded to Intermountain Medical Center. There were no reported injuries among the 60 to 80 train passengers. A full investigation is underway.
