California automobile accident attorneys alert- Two separate crashes involving San Francisco Water Department truck and a Muni bus occurred almost simultaneously.
San Francisco, CA—Two separate accidents involving city vehicles happened almost simultaneously in different parts of San Francisco, which killed one woman and seriously injured another. Both accidents occurred at 1:40 p.m., on Tuesday, February 9, 201, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.
The first incident occurred on Ocean Avenue near Miramar Avenue in the Ingleside neighborhood, which left a 63-year-old woman dead. A Water Department truck was reportedly moving slowly eastbound when two of the truck’s tired ran over, and dragged Xiu Fang Huang as she was crossing the street. Huang was found lying near a cross walk, but it is unknown if she was walking in the crosswalk when she was hit. Haung was killed as a result of the collision. Two Water Department employees were inside the truck at the time; the male driver has been employed by the city for 23 years. At this time no arrests have been made, and the cause of the collision is currently under investigation by police officials.
The second crash occurred on San Bruno Avenue in the Portola neighborhood. A Muni bus reportedly hit and seriously injured a woman who was crossing San Bruno Avenue. According to witnesses, a southbound 9-San Bruno bus appeared to have been going about 15 mph when the bus hit the unidentified woman who was in the street. The intersection where the accident took place reportedly does not have stop signs or stoplights. The woman was thrown into the air and landed nearly 15 feet from the crosswalk. She was found bleeding from the nose and head area. The victim was described as a woman in her late 70’s. She was rushed by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to a hospital for treatment of her non-life threatening injuries. The bus driver is undergoing drug and alcohol tests, and was put on nondriving status while the investigation is ongoing.
