Florida truck wreck – Ambulance and pickup truck collided in Bradenton, FL; 3 injured

Florida Highway Patrol alerts- A Manatee County ambulance and a pickup truck collided, which injured three people.

Bradenton, FL—A two-vehicle crash involving an ambulance left three people injured, after a pickup truck failed to yield to the ambulance that was passing through an intersection. The crash occurred on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 around 11:00 a.m., at the State Road 70 and Lorraine Road intersection, as reported by MySuncoast.com.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a Manatee County E.M.S. ambulance with its sirens and lights activated was passing through the State Road 70 and Lorraine Road intersection, when a pickup truck failed to yield to the ambulance. The two vehicles collided as a result. A passenger riding inside the ambulance, the driver of the pickup truck, and the ambulance driver were all injured in the collision. The passenger of the ambulance was taken by Bayflite to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment of their undisclosed injuries. The pickup truck driver and the driver of the ambulance were transported by emergency medical services (EMS) crews to an area hospital. Their current conditions were not reported. Officials believe the ambulance may have been coming from or going to an emergency call when the crash occurred. At this time, no other injuries were reported. Police officials are conducting a full investigation into the wreck. No charges have been filed at this time.
