California Highway Patrol alert by California automobile accident attorneys- A multiple vehicle crash resulted in a man sustaining two broken legs.
Moss Landing, CA—A four-vehicle wreck on Highway 1, south of Jensen Road, left a Prunedale man with two broken legs this morning, November 12, 2009. Around 6:45 a.m. the man attempted to pass traffic when he clipped a Mercedes, as reported by the San Jose Mercury News.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the 25-year-old Prundedale man was traveling in his 1999 Camaro northbound on Highway 1, when he tried to pass the northbound traffic in front of him. He crossed over to the southbound lanes to begin passing the other motorists when he passed 2001 Mercedes driven by a 42-year-old Watsonville woman and struck her front left corner of her car. The impact caused the Mercedes to loose control and veer off the eastside of the highway. A southbound Dodge Ram driven by a 49-year-old Watsonville man desperately tried to avoid the collision but was hit head-on by the Camaro. The Camaro spun 180 degrees out-of-control after striking the truck, and then hit the Mercedes again. A 33-year-old Watsonville woman was traveling in an Acura behind the truck, and was hit by debris created by the Camaro. Emergency medical services (EMS) teams transported the driver of the Camaro to Watsonville Community Hospital. He was later airlifted to San Jose Regional Medical Hospital for further treatment of his serious injuries.
The driver sustained two broken legs along with other major injuries. The driver of the Mercedes complained of pain and was taken to Watsonville Community Hospital for treatment. The other drivers were treated at the scene by EMS professionals and released. The California Highway Patrol is currently conducting a full investigation into the serious wreck.
