Texas personal injury lawyers alert- A Lamar Consolidated ISD employee was run over by a Federal Express truck.

Houston, TX—A Federal Express truck hit and killed a Lamar Consolidated Independent School District employee at the school district’s bus barn. The fatal accident happened on Monday, September 28, 2009 around 1:30 p.m., at the Lamar Consolidated ISD bus barn along Avenue I, as reported by the Houston Chronicle.

According to police officials, a Federal Express (FedEx) truck had just finished making a delivery at the bus barn when a Lamar Consolidated ISD employee, identified as Robert Judd Whitman, 61, of Fulshear, happened to be standing in the “blind spot” of the FedEx truck. The FedEx truck driver then began to drive forward out of the bus barn when he struck Whitman. The driver didn’t immediately realize he had hit someone and drove for about 30 feet before he stopped, got out to check his truck, and realized he had hit someone. Whitman was rushed by emergency medical services (EMS) crews to Oak Bend Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Medical professionals at Oak Bend later pronounced Whitman dead. Police officials have not made any arrests or filed any charges in connection with the fatal accident at this time. Police officials are reportedly conducting a full investigation into the fatal FedEx truck accident.
