Registering with the Red Cross ensures that people can be notified as soon as services become available

OTTAWA, Sept. 25, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Canadian Red Cross is encouraging people affected by Hurricane Fiona to contact the Red Cross by phone 1-800-863-6582between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. ADT or online at www.redcross.ca/hurricanefiona.

Registering with the Red Cross ensures that people on the go can be contacted and reached with information about other Red Cross services and assistance that are available to them in this time of need.

For people not affected by this disaster, those who wish to help are encouraged to contribute Hurricane Fiona appeals in Canada online at redcross.approx or by phone 1-800-418-1111. A $10 donation can also be made via SMS to FIONA at 20222.

The Red Cross is working closely with community leaders and all levels of government to get assistance to people in and around affected areas as quickly as possible and to provide humanitarian assistance to meet emerging needs. The money raised will enable the Red Cross to carry out service, recovery, resilience and risk reduction activities in and outside the region at the individual and community levels.
