Trump lawyers must back up claims that the FBI “planted evidence” along the way

Former President donald trumpThe lawyers must substantiate statements made by the US out of court Federal Office of Investigations may have planted evidence at Mar-a-Lago when it was raided last month, the case’s special foreman has reportedly said.

What happened: Judge Raymond Dearie said in a court filing Thursday that Trump’s legal team should produce an affidavit and a list of items they claim were not seized during the search through Sept. 26, CNN reported.

A day before the order, Trump reportedly told Fox News, “Did they throw anything in those piles of materials from Mar-a-Lago, or did they do it later?”

When When asked if there was a video of it, Trump replied, “No, I don’t think so,” according to the report.

The FBI declined to comment on the allegations of misconduct during the search, reportedly with its director and said “I’m sure you can understand that I can’t talk about this, so I would refer you to the (Justice) Department.”

Why it matters: On Wednesday, the Justice Department got one Continue by an appeals court to continue its investigation into the secret documents seized at Mar-a-Lago.

Previously Trump’s lawyers was rapped by Deariewho signaled he was determined Trump’s litigation strategy would not affect the review.

New York Attorney General Letizia James on Thursday sued Trump and three of his children for $250 million for fraud allegedly used by the former president to enrich himself.

Trump called the lawsuit a “witch hunt” on Truth Social and said James failed in her attempt to be elected governor.

Truth Social is owned by Trump media and technology group (TMTG), which is to go public through a merger Digital World Acquisition Corp. DWAC.
