It’s official: the cannabis industry has joined the metaverse. Luxury cannabis brand Saucey Farms & Extracts formally announced its partnership with Higher Life CBD Dispensary Friday, allowing users to purchase THC products through the metaverse.
A Unified Vision
Higher Life was the first CBD brand to launch into the metaverse in December, but the collaboration with Saucey Farms & Extracts means buyers now have the option to purchase THC products through the virtual platform too.
“We couldn’t think of a better partner to expand our metaverse footprint with,” said Higher Life CBD Dispensary CEO Brandon Howard. “I’m thrilled to have Saucey as the exclusive partner in launching Phase Two with us, and we’re both excited to continue pushing the boundaries of cannabis e-commerce.”
Virtual Dispensary
Consumers can purchase products ranging from flower strains, all-natural cannabis oil cartridges, kiefed pre-rollsand more in the virtual dispensary located on 3 Dendrite Street, near Igloo 3 in Cryptovoxels.
To ensure accessibility, Saucey items can be purchased in the metaverse with regular currency as well as cryptocurrency at the dispensary. Additional cannabis NFT launches are also expected to arrive later this year.
Friends in “High” Places
Saucey founder Alex Todd is a celebrity jeweler-turned-entrepreneur, originally known for curating high-end jewelry for power players like Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kevin Hart.
Alex partnered with legendary Harlem rapper Jim Jones to enter the cannabis space with Saucey’s debut in 2019.
The brand has since amassed popularity among notable fans like Lil Uzi, Yo Gotti, Rick Ross, Fetty Wap, and Gary V.
“Meeting Brandon on Clubhouse last year felt like this collaboration was meant to be,” said Todd. “Being at the forefront of cannabis and technology innovation with our product as one of many firsts in the metaverse space is exciting. We’re honored to lead the creation of new ways folks can access and experience cannabis.”
