UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo., is undergoing a renovation project that aims to enhance patient experience and care as it better meets the community’s expanding healthcare needs.

The 142,000-square-foot project modernizes the 303-bed hospital and improves wayfinding for patients and visitors both inside and outside, including removing or minimizing public and patient cross-traffic within the hospital and creating a striking new entrance and community image.

Improvements will be focused on the hospital’s first and third floors. Interior work on the first floor includes a new heart and vascular care clinic and testing areas. Upgrades to the surgical, imaging, gastroenterology and pulmonary areas, and hallways as well as relocation of the chapel and gift and coffee shops are also planned. Additionally, the floor’s renovation includes expanding the lobby with new seating options, a fireplace, and an information desk.

Third-floor improvements include an overhaul of the labor and delivery unit with a refresh of the women’s care unit, pediatric care areas, and patient recovery rooms as well as relocation of nurses’ stations.

The renovation is scheduled for completion in advance of the hospital’s 100th anniversary in 2025.
