The plans include improvements to digital health services, home services, health equity and costs, she said, without elaborating on what the projects might look like in the development phase.

The new system’s board of directors is largely made up of in-house physicians and longtime Michigan executives. Board members include: President Julie Fream, President and CEO of the Original Equipment Suppliers Association; Fris Decker; Christopher Carpenter, Director of the Beaumont Department of Medicine and Dean of the William Beaumont School of Medicine at the University of Auckland; Mark Davidoff, President and CEO of Fisher Group; Doug DeVos, Chairman of Amway; Marija Grahovac, Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Beaumont and former division head of Oakwood Healthcare; Ronald Hall, CEO of Detroit auto supplier Bridgewater Interiors; Angel Hernandez, Director of Neuroscience, DeVos Children’s Hospital; Philomena Mantella, President, Grand Valley State University; Timothy O’Brien, President, TOB Consulting; William Payne, President, BP Ventures; Robert Roth, President and CEO, RoMan Manufacturing; JRB Enterprises / Thomas Saeli, CEO of Duro-Last; Michael Todman, former Chairman of Whirlpool and President of TMA Ltd.; and Sean Welsh, current Chairman of the Board of Directors of Spectrum and Regional President of PNC Bank.

BHSH has held a number of leadership roles within the organization, including the transfer of several leaders from Beaumont and Spectrum to similar roles at the parent companies. However, several positions still need to be filled, including chief risk officer, chief human resources officer and chief strategy officer.

The organization will conduct a search over the next few weeks to fill open positions.

“As we roll out our new health system, we have an audacious goal of transforming health and are excited to unite our two great organizations,” Fries Decker said in a release. “Together, we will leverage our complementary strengths to innovate and positively impact our communities and their health. We look forward to working with our physicians, team members, patients, health plan members and partners across the state to deliver healthcare and Coverage is accessible, affordable, fair and exceptional.”
