Your humble bloggers and our respected commentators sometimes provide personal accounts of their actual or expected recipients financially, medically and otherwise. This case study Health Thermal ImagingThe unreasonable reliance on ozone falls into the “Potentially Helpful Shaggy Dog Stories” category, a bonus post today. If that’s not your thing, skip this product and enjoy our regular show. But if you’re unfortunate enough to come across this Covid quack, please ask in the comments.

Health Thermal Imaging is an alternative medical practice that put the health of “patients” at risk by employing reckless and illegal low/no masking practices when Omicron was rampant in New York City.

In terms of the hazards involved in imaging, this “employee choice and sloppy cover-up even when done” is bad enough because of how close the employee is to the customer while serving this bread and butter.but Health Thermal Imaging There are also various dental clinics in the same space (Thermography for Health website touts periodontal and “oral parasite” checks; I’m not sure if these staff also offer general dentistry, such as in a different “business status”). On the check-in desk , I saw someone was being treated by a doctor who was not wearing a mask on the patient’s face.

As you will see in more detail below, Health Thermal Imaging Falsely claiming that they were not endangering patients due to poor safety measures because they were using ozone machines on the premises.

Health Thermal Imaging Too Ignoring New York State’s Covid-19 Rules:

Anyone, past their second birthday and medically able to tolerate face coverings, whether vaccinated or not, must wear an appropriate mask in any indoor setting. However, businesses and sites may choose to implement a vaccination requirement that requires proof of vaccination as a condition of entry to the business or site. Whatever requirement is chosen, it must apply to everyone within the capabilities of the business/site, including employees, patrons, visitors, and guests. A business and a site cannot make a “combination” requirement.

I don’t recall an example of our savvy readers, many of whom have been struggling to find non-pharmaceutical interventions to increase their chances of not contracting Covid, who mentioned ozone as a Covid protection. This is probably because, if they had come up with the idea, they would have found it a non-starter with minimal effort on the search engines.

A use case for ozone with Covid is to bombard a sealed area with Covid-contaminated air, such as a room used by a Covid-positive patient after discharge. The reason hospitals and nursing homes don’t use ozone machines to try to kill the Covid-19 virus in circulation is that the concentration of ozone needed to kill Covid-19 is harmful to other organisms. It would be foolish and reckless to run an ozone machine at a human-tolerable level and pretend that the air is pure and that masks are not needed.

The National Environment Agency of Singapore does a great job of one-stop shopping on this topic. From its website, Technical guidance on the use of gaseous ozone to combat the COVID-19 virus:

In recent years, some ozone generators have been promoted as air purifiers for occupied spaces. However, scientific evidence suggests that ozone concentrations within safe health limits may be ineffective for disinfection, and the use of any effective ozone concentration must exclude the presence of humans and pets, including fish.

Specifically, the article shows the ozone concentration required to inactivate the coronavirus: 120 ppb (parts per billion). By comparison, here are the limits of humans:

And the consequences of going beyond these levels:

Exposure to ozone can cause adverse health effects in the nose, throat, and respiratory tract, with more severe health effects observed at higher levels. Exposure to 300 ppb of ozone can cause chest and throat tightness and inflammation of the lungs and throat within 30 minutes. Exposure to 80 – 120 ppb of ozone over 6.6 hours in healthy individuals is associated with loss of lung function, cough and chest pain with deep inhalation, inflammatory responses associated with cellular and biochemical changes, and increased airway responsiveness to allergens and irritants15. A study showed that lung function decreased when children were exposed to ozone concentrations as low as 60 ppb in ambient air during a 4-week summer camp in Pennsylvania, USA. Chronic exposure has been shown to cause irreversible obstructive airway disease in animals, while some studies have shown similar effects in humans.

Now to the furry dog ??part of the story. I had breast thermal imaging instead of mammograms because I had too many X-rays due to my frequent orthopedic injuries. Both my GP and OB/Gyn consider breast thermography to be an acceptable diagnostic method. However, if you’ve ever been to a ‘holistic’ or alternative practitioner, their general professionalism and sense of boundaries is likely to bloom all over the place…like a body worker trying to give you advice when you don’t ‘don’t ask for it’.

When I lived in NYC, I went to health thermal imagers and wasn’t crazy about them. They are competent for exams, but very condescending, adopt a nasty fake parent attitude (only do so when they get paid, given the number of female professionals here, which is deaf in Manhattan) and aggressively try to sell every third Retest every month. The desperation for extra income is palpable, but I’ll get my results and leave. In Alabama, I found a more specialized operator, but they were placed in a larger alternative practice. The main domo was decommissioned, and the thermal imaging section was relocated too far to be practical.

So I went back to NYC because I couldn’t handle an urgent medical issue in Alabama (doctors here agreed it was urgent and I needed outpatient surgery for the next two months). Needless to say, I’ve been in alert mode, super masked, cracked whenever there is a window, gargle and snort regularly, and only go to essential appointments.I submitted the thermogram late and mistakenly thought it was because Health Thermal Imaging Claiming to be medically next to each other, its staff would do well to wear masks, like in every office I’ve been to so far, especially since this is Manhattan, and generally better mask discipline than before (More N/KN95, huge reduction in masks under the nose).

It’s not like this. Neither of the two women behind the desk was wearing a high-quality mask, and neither was one on the nose. The lounge area was empty, but I started freaking out seeing a putative dental room behind the reception area with the maskless doctor. Then I saw a couple of men walking through the waiting area, one with a surgical mask as a neck diaper, and one without a mask at all.1

When the woman who is going to give me a test shows up, I only stop dating 3/4 of the way. She had a surgical mask on her face as she walked up to me, a not-so-good sign, and it didn’t go over her nose until I confronted her about mask-wearing practices in the office and how they endanger patients .

She started treating me like an idiot, the worst PMC-tude, from people with no medical education or scientific credentials, claiming they were using ozone so the air was pure and safe, so masks were not needed.

I actually researched ozone generators in the early days of Covid as I rented heavy duty ozone generators trying to get the smell out of cigar-smoking tenants in my apartment and also recalled when they were popular in the alternative medicine world. I quickly determined that they wouldn’t work. I called her and said the research did not support her claims. Then she tried to say, “Oh, there’s a lot of opinions, and that’s yours.” I said it’s not a matter of opinion, but it’s well documented in medical and hospital hygiene research. She continued to act as if she knew better that any independent information was irrelevant. She also tried to divert attention by saying, “We’re socially distancing.” I say the guidance is seriously outdated. Again she acted as if she didn’t have to accept what I said.

Then she said that if I wasn’t feeling well, she would feel uncomfortable treating me, which was a power play in the context, and she would refuse therapy if I didn’t shut up. I said I was not happy, but here I am, I will take the test.

Then she baited and changed me. I’ve booked a breast thermography and as you can see on their website it’s listed as the first thermography service and just started undressing for it. She insisted that I dissect further so she could perform a thermographic analysis of my entire torso. This is listed on their website as a completely different test, “Thermal Imaging Health Screening”. The patterns there clearly show that this imaging can screen a variety of other sites, such as the gut, kidneys, sex organs.

I said I had a breast thermogram booked and that’s what I wanted. Then she said, “We don’t do it like they do in Alabama,” implying that the alternative practitioner in Alabama is Barefoot Yahoo, and that’s what I used to get from them, and they’re still on their site peddling. She insists that breasts are part of a system and that I need to have my stomach, intestines and uterus imaged to detect inflammation,2 It seems like my gut inflammation is causing breast cancer!

I told her it was ridiculous, I pulled back my shirt at record speed and walked out on foot. These people have gone from being visibly hungry for money but can still manage charlatans. keep away.

_____

1 No one asked me for proof of vaccinations, which means that under New York State rules, everyone over the age of two must wear a mask, except when eating or drinking.

2 It’s not hard to guess that what’s driving the needless wider imaging is the dietary supplements displayed in the waiting area, in addition to charging more for “thermographic health checks”, they want/intend to push supplements to treat various hypothetical abnormalities . One of the reasons that whole-body CAT scans are outdated is that they detect all kinds of oddities, but there is no clinical baseline to know if they are pathological, or simply harmless deviations from normal.
