The nonprofit healthcare system Christus Southeast Texas Health System (Beaumont, Texas) and real estate developer NexCore Group (Denver) announced plans for the Gisela Houseman Medical Campus (GHMC) in Orange, Texas.

The first phase of the project will include a two-story, 55,000-square-foot Medical Office Building (MOB) with emergency, outpatient, and diagnostic services provided by Christus Southeast Texas Health System providers. The remaining space will be rented out to independent doctors. GHMC’s program services and facilities include emergency departments, imaging and diagnostic services, laboratories, primary and specialty care clinics, and community education districts.

The campus will help meet the needs of health care services following the closure of Orange Baptist Hospital in 2017. The grand opening of GHMC is planned for spring 2023.
