The report’s findings detail that the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is considered the most influential blockchain company in 2021. The exchange received a rating of 5.64/10 in the influence ranking, followed by Gemini. The Gemini exchange’s blockchain score is 2.33/10, with a valuation of approximately US$5 billion, while Kraken’s current valuation is US$20 billion.
Only 16% of the 50 fintech companies on the list are related to “blockchain and bitcoin”
The two exchanges followed closely by Blockfi, Paxos, Chainalysis, Anchorage, Fireblocks and Alchemy. From the perspective of fintech as a whole, the top five fintech companies include Robinhood, Stripe, Kraken, Klarna and Wise. Payment company Wise is followed closely by Current, Chime, Gemini, Carta and Blockfi. Although Kraken’s valuation is US$20 billion, it is higher than Robinhood’s US$11.7 billion, but lower than Stripe’s US$95 billion valuation.
In the ranking of fintech companies, Alchemy, the lowest valued in the blockchain list, is currently valued at approximately US$505 million. In terms of categories, only 8 of the 50 companies are related to “blockchain and bitcoin”. The blockchain companies mentioned are fintech companies specializing in investment, personal finance, payments, B2B loans, insurance, real estate, and corporate solutions.
