Police believe that the suspect in a homicide in southern Manitoba may be in Winnipeg, driving a gray SUV.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said in a press release issued late on Tuesday that investigators believe that 34-year-old Eric Wildman was in Winnipeg on Monday, possibly driving a gray 2020 Chevy Equinox, Nitobar’s license plate number is KGE 368.
Earlier in the day, several Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers searched a property in northeastern Winnipeg that they believed belonged to Whiteman after issuing an arrest warrant to Whiteman.
The Mounted Police believed that he was related to the disappearance of Clifford Joseph.
The 40-year-old Joseph was last seen leaving his home in rural San Clements in the early morning of June 7. The police previously stated that they believed his disappearance was suspicious.

Joseph’s 1997 Ford Ranger was found abandoned in a rural area near East Road 44, about 50 kilometers south of the property searched Tuesday, on the day he was last seen.
Joseph’s body has not been found, but the RCMP stated that based on the evidence found, they are convinced that he is dead. The evidence is also related to Wildman.
The RCMP said at a press conference on Tuesday: “The RCMP continues to try to find Whiteman and detain him safely.”
The same home, missing 2 times
Investigators say that the person who once lived in Joseph’s house is also missing, the RCMP. Paul Manegret said.

On June 11, a vehicle belonging to Wildman was found in the East Kildonan community of Winnipeg, and a police search warrant was searched two days later.

The last confirmed sighting of Wildman was in East Kildonan on June 11, although the RCMP received a message on Tuesday that he might be in the city again on Monday night.

The search of Wildman’s property included areas where the outer shell of the vehicle was burned, as well as rubble from the old house.
LeDrew said the house was burned down about a month ago, but there is no connection to the current investigation.
Echoes of the tragedy in Nova Scotia
The searches and stories that have appeared around Wildman are a creepy comparison with the tragedy that occurred in Nova Scotia last year.
In April 2020, Gabriel Wortman killed 22 people in various communities in the province while wearing an authentic police uniform and driving a fake RCMP cruiser.
He set ablaze his hut, garage and three other houses within 13 hours, and was shot dead by the police at the gas station.
Ledru said she was fully aware of these similarities, calling them “very worrying.”
She said this is why the police will release as many Wildman photos as possible and actively let the public know about the investigation. “We want to make sure that the public knows his looks very well.”
The Royal Nova Scotia Mounted Police are under strict scrutiny for their handling of the April 2020 incident, especially why they took so long to alert the public.
When asked on Tuesday why the Royal Mounted Police of Manitoba did not issue a formal alert to Wildman, LeDrew said that these alerts would only be issued when there is reliable information about a person’s location and imminent threats.
“We currently don’t have that,” she said.
“He may have a chance to get more guns”
LeDrew said that once investigators were able to search Wildman’s vehicle, find these items and link them to Joseph’s presumed death, “we knew what we were looking at, and then we launched these media releases.”
There is no other choice but to see Wildman’s latest information on Monday. She said the Winnipeg police are helping the RCMP investigate the latest report.
“We don’t know where he is. We believe he is somewhere in Winnipeg,” Ledru said.
“He may have a car, he may have more police-related clothing, he may have more guns. These are things we don’t know.”
