Austrian Marko Anutovich insisted that his crazy celebration was not a racist tirade against the Albanian descent of North Macedonia.

The 32-year-old former West Ham United star yelled at Leeds United’s Ezjan Alioski, who was Albanian but chose to play for his country of birth, North Macedonia.

The Serbian newspaper Informer claimed that the angry Anautovic scolded: “I fucked your Albanian mother.”

Many North Macedonian players are semi-Albanian. Anautovic apologized for his behavior, but insisted that it was not a racial slander.

He said: “I am not a racist, and I will never become a racist. The two sides are emotional and war of words. It doesn’t matter who it is related to. (It) has nothing to do with politics.

“My friends have grown into my family. They come from all over the world. To everyone who feels they are valued: I’m sorry.”
