According to the Minnesota Department of Health, the number of COVID-19 deaths in Minnesota was as high as 7,512, and 9 deaths were reported on Sunday.

Another 173 infections were reported, bringing the total to 603,760.

State officials say the actual number of infections may be much higher because the data only represents people who have been tested.

As of Sunday, the total number of tests was 4,341,776.

The nine deaths on Sunday ranged in number, with three between 45 and 49 years old and two between 90 and 94 years old.

One in nine people is from a long-term care or assisted living facility. Of the 7,512 deaths in the state, 4,456 were from such facilities.

How is the patient?

As of Sunday, among those infected with the virus, 594,691 have recovered to the point where they no longer need to be quarantined.

A total of 32,412 people were hospitalized in Minnesota, of which 6,573 were admitted to the intensive care unit.
