BRITS could be scorched in the 30C sunshine for at least 14 more days with reports of a new heatwave on the way.
According to Netweather the south-east can expect the hottest weather with “Perhaps nudging the low 30s in the south-east of England.”
With humid conditions building towards the weekend, 30C or more is “quite possible” on Saturday and Sunday, said John Hammond of Weather Trending.
The Met Office’s long-range weather forecast reveals that temperatures are to be “very warm perhaps hot for a time” for the first part of the week starting June 14.
On Tuesday the Met Office said in its blog that “high-pressure from the Azores will extend across the bulk of the country this week, bringing predominantly settled weather and allowing temperatures to slowly rise.
“Temperatures, particularly in the south, are likely to reach the mid, to possibly high 20s of Celsius over the next few days and into the weekend. Some areas may reach heatwave criteria.”

BRITS LEFT RED-FACED AFTER STAYING OUT TOO LONG IN THE SUN THIS WEEK
Dozy Brits were left red-faced after staying out too long in the sun this week.
Social media pics showed the body areas they’d remembered to cover up — or not — in a painful British bake-off.
It comes after Britain reached highs of 26C – with parts of the UK clocking in HOTTER than Spain.
As Brits packed out beaches and parks to soak up the rays, tourists in Ibiza were pictured sheltering under umbrellas during downpours as temperatures barely reached 18C.
The UK’s sunny spell will also be warmer than other popular destinations, including Portuguese archipelago Madeira, where it will be a pitiful 16C and rainy, and Nice in southern France where it is only set to reach 22C.

IS IT TOO HOT TO WALK MY DOG?
Dogs, just like people, can get heatstroke so you should walk them when it’s cooler, such as early in the morning or later at night.
Heatstroke can be fatal and occur in a matter of minutes, with tell-tale signs include collapsing, excessive panting and dribbling.
But sadly, often when they show symptoms the damage is already done.

MET OFFICE: HOT CONDITIONS OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS
A Met Office spokeswoman said: “We are looking at what could be hot conditions over the next few weeks, but it’s still very early to tell whether it will be the hottest June yet.
“High pressure is starting to build which should lead to fine and dry conditions, with the occasional showery and thundery outbreaks.
“We’re hopefully looking at what will be a very nice June indeed.” -

A formidable heatwave is set to grip the West Coast over the next week, sending temperatures soaring above 100F.

HOT DOGS CONTINUED
If you place the back of your hand on the pavement and it feels hot – then it’s too hot for your dog’s paw.
Experts call it the seven-second pavement test – if it’s too hot for your hand for seven seconds, then walking your dog in those conditions wouldn’t be the best idea.
Dogs’ main sweat glands are located on their paw pads – which is one of the reasons why walking on hot pavements is uncomfortable for the pups.
In the hot weather, don’t run, jog or cycle with dogs.

HOW DO I SLEEP WHEN IT IS HOT?
Experts have issued the following tips to help get a good night’s sleep.
- Keep bedroom curtains closed during the day
- Use cotton sheets, which will absorb sweat and help you sleep more comfortably
- Open a window an hour before you go to bed
- Use a fan to circulate air around the room
- Put sheets in the freezer for a few minutes before bedtime
When it comes to coping with higher temperatures, Dr Thomas Waite of Public Health England has said: “It’s really important to remember that there are some people whose health suffers in hot weather.
“Older people, those with underlying health conditions, and young children may all feel the ill-effects.”

DOG’S BALEARICS
Britain is set to be hotter than the Balearics today as the mercury soars to 24C – but sudden hail showers are expected to sweep the East.
After a weekend of balmy sunshine, some may now need a brolly despite the high temperatures continuing today.
Brits will be able to bask in the heat as any fog and low cloud lifts away this morning, making room for sunny spells – while Ibiza just scrapes 22C.
It’s welcome news to those whose holiday plans were scuppered due to the latest green-list announcement – but as it finally starts to feel like summer, some parts of the country will be struck by sudden hail showers.
