Man uses $13,000 worth of Bitcoin to hire killers on the dark web to murder his ex-girlfriend

A California man allegedly hired a killer with $13,000 in cryptocurrency to kill him after his ex-girlfriend dumped him.

Scott Quinn Berkett, 24, of Beverly Hills, was arrested on May 21 and is facing murder charges after linking Bitcoin to a “contract killer” who turned out to be an undercover FBI agent.

According to the police, Burckett established a relationship with the woman online at the end of last year. They met in Los Angeles in October, but it ended soon after he became “sexually assaulted.”

After the trip, she tried to end their short relationship, but Burckett continued to contact the young woman.

The prosecutor said that in April this year, one of her relatives was worried about the 24-year-old girl’s persistence and contacted his father and asked him to intervene.
