San Diego – During the pandemic, the Balboa Park Carousel finally reopened after being closed for more than a year.
“It’s weird, I have seen all the smiling faces,” Bill Brown said.
On the opening day, the children jumped around excitedly.
A father said while waiting in line: “This is his first time on the merry-go-round. He is very happy that you can tell.”
Brown said: “This is an important day, and many people have been waiting for it all year.” “People keep asking me,’When are you going to open the door?'”
He said: “I don’t know that I will remember everything, but it’s like riding a bicycle, fattening machinery and everything.
Brown said ecstatically that the shape of the merry-go-round was better than before.
He said: “We took this opportunity to do a lot of work on the carousel, paint the animals, paint the building, and do a lot of restoration work.”
Thanks to the non-profit Friends of Balboa Park and the community for donations, the restoration project was completed.
The carousel is currently only open on weekends. It will be open every day from June 15th.
