San Diego (CNS) – The extensive low-pressure system still covers the western states and is expected to continue to produce cool weather in San Diego County on Saturday. The high temperatures in the mountains and deserts are 15 to 20 degrees below normal, and the National Weather Service said, The temperature on the coast and valleys is lower than normal.

Forecasters said that low fog may continue to some parts of the western part of the mountain range until Saturday.

Some snow may fall above 5500 feet on Saturday, but due to lack of deep moisture, there may be only a small amount.

According to NWS, the high temperature in the coastal area on Saturday is expected to be 64-69 degrees, with an overnight low of 49-54. The high point in the western valley will be 65-70, the foothill area will be 61-66, and the overnight low will be 42-50.

The mountain high is expected to reach 57-66 and the overnight low will reach 36-42. The high point of the desert will be 79-84, and the low point overnight will be 53-60.

As the low pressure system moves to the northeast early next week, it is expected to gradually heat up by Tuesday. NWS said that sea levels are expected to become shallower, which limits low cloud coverage at night and in the morning.

Weak troughs of low pressure are expected to cause increased low cloud cover, and will reach or fall below the seasonal average in the mid-week and half of the season.

Forecasters predict that there will be a small amount of cooling in all areas on Wednesday and Thursday, and some warming on Friday and Saturday, mainly in the lower desert areas, where temperatures may rise to the low triple digits again.
