The United Arab Emirates plans to provide a third injection of the national medicine to people who have already received two doses, because the effectiveness of the vaccine has been the cornerstone of the country’s rapid vaccination program.

The UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority said, “Sinopharm can now provide additional support doses to people who have previously received this vaccine, and it has been over six months since the second dose.”

China National Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. received vaccine support from the World Health Organization this month, but there are questions about how the vaccine can protect individuals from the severe Covid-19 infection while preventing the spread of the virus and infecting more people.

According to a report by the National Daily in March, the UAE administered the third dose to a “small number” of people who did not develop antibodies after the first two injections of the national medicine. According to the World Health Organization, Sinopharm’s efficacy in preventing symptoms and hospitalized diseases is estimated to be 79% in all age groups of the syndrome.

Other vaccine manufacturers are also racing to develop booster vaccines. It is not clear when, if these viruses are needed, or if they are needed, who will get them, but the company is preparing for the continuous mutation of the virus and may require regular booster injections.

Peng Xiao, the CEO of Sinopharm G42, which is shooting in the country, told Bloomberg in March that the company is “testing whether the third injection can help prevent the new mutations we see around us.”

The UAE has one of the fastest vaccine launch platforms in the world and has provided more than 11.5 million doses of vaccine to approximately 10 million people. Since the peak in January, infections have fallen by more than 65%, and the country reported the smallest increase in cases on Monday.

Pfizer and AstraZeneca’s vaccines have been approved for use, although the UAE’s vaccination schedule depends on the production of Sinopharm, which is produced locally.

Sinopharm injection accounts for about 60% of Seychelles’ injection doses. Seychelles has provided more vaccinations for people in other countries in the world. However, with the surge in cases, some virus-related containment measures must be restored.

The increase in the number of cases has raised concerns about effectiveness. Seychelles also uses the AstraZeneca vaccine.
