San Diego (CNS)-San Diego County public health officials have reported 108 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 279,098 and the death toll to 3,742.

According to Sunday’s report, a total of 130 people were hospitalized. 39 patients reported in the intensive care unit on Sunday. The county has 44 staffed ICU beds.

Of the 8,520 tests reported to the County Health and Human Services Bureau on Sunday, 1% returned positive.

The Sweetwater Alliance High School District announced Friday that it has provided vaccines to all students 12 years and older and staff wishing to get vaccinated.

Dean Moises Aguirre said: “We are proud to participate in the sweetwater community vaccination efforts. “We are proud to work with local stakeholders and use our resources to work hard to ensure our students , Faculty, staff and their families have the opportunity to be vaccinated. The county has received 3,735,305 doses of coronavirus vaccine and 3,278,819 doses have been administered.

A total of 1,765.927 people received a dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, accounting for 63% of the county’s 63% of San Diego County residents (2,802,581 people) aged 12 years and older.

In the age group of 12 years or older, a total of 1,314,431 copies (46.9% of the county’s target) were vaccinated with two doses of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The California Department of Public Health approved the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children aged 12 to 15 on Wednesday, and 175,864 residents of this age group in the county can make appointments to receive the vaccine.

Anyone under the age of 18 must obtain parental consent before being vaccinated. In addition to the parent’s consent, the minor must also present a photo ID and proof of age, or the parent, guardian or caregiver accompanying the minor must verify his age and identity.

If the parent or legal guardian cannot accompany the minor to the vaccination site, they need to arrange an appointment on MyTurn.ca.gov to obtain their prior consent.

In contrast to mobile clinics that mainly use Johnson & Johnson vaccines, all static vaccination clinics in the county will be prepared to use Pfizer vaccines for appointments.
