Wolfram Blockchain Labs (WBL) is a provider of the distributed ledger technology (DLT) ecosystem. Its tools help to develop various smart contract-based smart applications. Today it announced the integration of WBL’s DLT platform with open source protocols, IPFS and Filecoin .

Introducing the decentralized storage network of IPFS and Filecoin to the WBL platform will add new functions to supplement the existing blockchain support. WBL has hosted from ark, Bitcoin, bloxberg, Cardano, Ethereum, Tezos and other companies in high-performance clusters; Provide direct connections for Wolfram Language integration for desktop (Mathematica) and cloud (Wolfram Cloud).

These blockchains have already used Protocol Lab solutions in transactions. Adding new storage capabilities can extend the overall usability of decentralized technologies through the Wolfram Language.

“We are very pleased to introduce Filecoin to their product line with Wolfram to provide elastic and decentralized storage for the scientific community. This integration will simplify the storage and retrieval of large data sets, and by protecting authors’ provenance and ensuring long-term availability of data Research cooperation opens up new opportunities.”
– Molly Mackinlay, Head of Engineering, Protocol Labs IPFS and Filecoin

This Wolfram Language Represents a major advancement in programming languages, allowing everyone to access the most advanced calculations. The Wolfram Language has built-in functions for interacting with the blockchain. It can either retrieve detailed information from Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other blockchains, or construct transactions and submit them to the blockchain.

Initial application

Under the guidance of the Max Planck Digital Library, Wolfram created an initial application using the Wolfram Language and IPFS integration. The app helps scientists hash data on the open, science-focused bloxberg, while storing metadata and data in IPFS for sharing.

WBL also uses IPFS and Filecoin integration to build functions and use cases that can be incorporated into decentralized applications used by researchers.

“WBL has added decentralized storage options to enhance bloxberg’s Certify & Verification service through its IPFS integration, which will provide users who are not using dedicated storage with the possibility to store their authentication data. We believe that the implementation is to enhance blockchain support An important step in the user-friendliness of the service, thereby providing more users with the opportunity to benefit from the unique possibilities of blockchain technology in science.
–Friederike Kleinfercher, Deputy Manager, Max Planck Digital Library

The collaboration between Wolfram Blockchain Lab, IPFS and Filecoin will provide a wide range of Wolfram language tools for dApps development; initially focusing on data, storage and analysis. WBL, IPFS and Filecoin expect the wide application of these tools and aim to gradually expand their use to the fields of enterprise, decentralized finance, academic research and education.

“Distributed storage is one of the basic elements driving the blockchain revolution, so we are happy to work with IPFS and Filecoin. Adding them to the Wolfram Language will undoubtedly provide developers and users of our evolving ecosystem with new features We can’t wait to see what applications this integration will produce.”
-Johan Veerman, Chief Technology Officer, Wolfram Blockchain Lab
