Texas – One person has died after a bridge collapsed in Texas. As reported by WebProNews, the area of the I-35 bridge collapsed in Salado killing one person and leaving three others with injuries. The bridge was reportedly under construction at the time of the incident.

According to the WebProNews report, “It was around 11:15 AM on Thursday when the I-35 bridge collapse was reported. A local CBS station out of Dallas has confirmed the person who died was a 32-year-old man from Arlington. He has been identified as Clark Davis. Davis leaves behind a girlfriend and a seven-year-old daughter.”

The incident was caused by an oversized trailer hitting one of the bridge’s supports, causing multiple beams to fall into the roadway according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

As noted in the report, a construction company used a crane on Friday to search through the debris for survivors.
