California – Sephora has received criticism recently over the name of a lipstick color in the makeup line of famed tattoo artist Kat Von D. As reported by WGN, the lipstick called “Underage Red” has caused an uproar by some people who deemed it inappropriate because of the purported suggested sexual nature of the name.
Sephora has apologized over the lipstick name and ceased sales of it in stores and online.
In 2012, another lipstick name in Kat Von D’s line, “Celebutard” sparked controversy after shoppers complained and it was pulled by Sephora as well.
Kat Von D has not apologized over the recent issues people have had with the “Uderage Red” lipstick color or offered any indication that she agreed that it should be pulled from stores.
