Mesa, Arizona – One of the people injured in a shooting spree in Mesa reportedly stopped to take a selfie amid the chaos. As reported by WebProNews, selfies taken by shooting victim Isaac Martinez were tweeted by Arizona Republic reporter Yihyun Jeong, with one appearing to have been taken right after Martinez was wounded with a caption reading “I just got shot.”
As noted in the report, Martinez, an EVIT student, was shot after the gunman had shot a man and two women at a hotel prior. The gunman also shot another man at an apartment complex after injuring Martinez.
According to a report by CBS News, the gunman was arrested later at a vacant condo. He has been identified as 41-year-old Ryan Elliot Giroux. Giroux is stated to be a white supremacist with an extended criminal history.
The shootings remained under investigation at the time of the report.
