Los Angeles – HGTV has canceled a pilot for a TV show featuring two brothers who have spoken out against homosexuality, divorce and abortion. As reported by The Wrap, the network announced the cancellation plans on social media Wednesday.

The show “Flip it Forward,” featuring twin brothers David and Jason Benham, was set to premiere in October. Following the announcement of the series, HGTV received backlash from fans who took issue with statements made by the brothers in 2012 during a rally supporting a constitutional amendment to define marriage in North Carolina as being between one man and one woman.

David Benham is quoted as having stated at the time, “We have no-fault divorce; we have pornography and perversion; we have homosexuality and its agenda that is attacking the nation; we have adultery … while the church sits silent and just builds big churches.”

HGTV is quoted as writing on their Facebook page, “HGTV has decided not to move forward with the Benham Brothers’ series.”
