Montana – A newlywed bride accused in the death of her husband has agreed to a plea deal. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Jordan Graham, 22, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder as closing arguments were due to be heard in her murder trial. The acceptance of the agreement by a judge is still pending.
Graham is accused of pushing her husband, 25-year-old Cody Johnson, to whom she had been married for eight days, to his death in Montana’s Glacier National Park. Prosecutors contend that Graham lured him there and pushed Johnson intentionally after having second thoughts about their marriage.
As noted by the AP, the defense and the prosecution both rested their cases on Thursday. Graham did not take the witness stand in her defense throughout the trial.
A date for sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
