San Francisco – Apple Inc. has reportedly spent over $60 million on lawyers in the U.S. in its legal battle against Samsung. As reported by Reuters, according to documents filed Thursday Apple claims it paid the Morrison & Foerster law firm the large sum through last month.
The company has requested that U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh order $15.7 million of the amount Apple has paid in legal fees be paid by Samsung.
Apple’s attorneys are quoted as stating in its filings, “Awarding fees to Apple ‘flows quite naturally’ from the jury’s willfulness verdict as well as Samsung’s extensive record of willful, deliberate, and calculated decisions to copy the iPhone, in blatant disregard for Apple’s IP.”
