Ohio – Two law professors who have been engaged in a 17-year legal battle over their divorce have drawn criticism from judges for their continual disputes. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the couple, who was married for ten years, have been accused by judges hearing their case of abusing the system.

Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Leslie Ghiz is quoted by the AP as stating of the couple during a hearing in July, “It is frightening to this court that either is teaching current law students the boundaries and ethics of our profession… Both should be thoroughly embarrassed and ashamed.”

Ghiz has also said the two should be reprimanded by the Ohio State Bar Association.

The divorce between University of Cincinnati professor Christo Lassiter and his former wife, Sharlene Boltz, took five years, and the couple has since continued to have legal disputes over issues such as money. They currently have a court hearing set for September 6.
