Louisiana – A man who took three hostages from a Louisiana bank released one of them several hours later. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), negotiations for getting the others released continued Tuesday after Louisiana State Police superintendent Col. Mike Edmonson confirmed that one of the hostages, a female bank teller, had been freed.
The man, who has only been identified as a 20-year-old from northeastern Louisiana, took three employees of a bank located across the street from a store owned by his family hostage shortly after noon on Tuesday.
Edmonson is quoted by the AP as stating of the developing situation, “We’re negotiating with him…We’re talking with him. We’ve been on the phone with him. We actually talked to the hostages there. Nothing is more important to me than the safety of those hostages.”
