Charlotte, NC – Danica Patrick has announced that she is divorcing her husband of seven years. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the decorated American auto racing driver announced the split with physical therapist Paul Hospenthal on her Facebook page this week.
Patrick is quoted by the AP as stating in a post on the page, “I am sad to inform my fans that after seven years, Paul and I have decided amicably end our marriage… This isn’t easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that’s how we will remain moving forward.”
Patrick and Hospenthal, who is 17 years her senior, were married in 2005. Patrick recently completed her first NASCAR full season.
