New York pedestrian accident lawyer report – On Monday, September 17, 2012, a woman was struck and killed by a taxi in Manhattan, according to information received by New York City pedestrian accident attorney Jonathan C Reiter. The woman was struck at First Avenue on the Upper East Side.
Reiter explains that 65-year-old Pelagia Zingatan of Queens was walking across First Avenue at approximately 1 pm when she was struck by a cab traveling west on 69th Street.
She was pronounced dead at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Witness reports stated the woman was pinned under the cab when hit, and that she was dragged afterwards. The driver remained at the scene of the accident, and no charges were filed as of Tuesday, September 18.
In an incident on Staten Island, another pedestrian accident occurred less than 24 hours later. A pedestrian was struck by an automobile while crossing at the Castleton Corners intersection Tuesday, September 18. The victim, whose identity was not released, pending family notification, was walking near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Sommers Lane just after 10 am.
The extent of the pedestrian’s injuries were not clear, according to New York pedestrian accident lawyer Jonathan C Reiter.
