California mourns loss of Los Angeles pitcher and two others killed in wreck.

Los Angeles, CA (JusticeNewsFlash.com)–Los Angeles Angels lost their pitcher Wednesday night in a fatal car accident.  Nick Adenhart, 22, from Hagerstown, Maryland, was tragically killed only hours after he played in the Angels game on Wednesday. He was a passenger in a Mitsubishi that was hit by a driver who ran a red light in California. The Los Angeles Times reported the accident occurred around midnight at the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Lemon Street in Fullerton, California. Witnesses told officers with Fullerton Police Department a red mini van blew through the red light at the intersection, hitting the silver Mitsubishi car carrying Adenhart and 3 others.

Paramedics pronounced 2 of the 4 occupants in the Mitsubishi dead at the scene of the accident, including the car’s driver. The other 2 occupants in the car including Adenhart, were taken to the University of California, Irvine Medical Center where Adenhart died after undergoing surgery. The driver of the red mini van ran from the scene of the accident. Officers caught up with the man a short time later, arresting him for suspicion of hit-and-run. The passenger in the mini van was taken to Western Medical Center for medical treatment for their injuries. There was also a third vehicle involved in the fatal automobile accident, but there have been no reports if the driver and passengers in the 3rd car was injured.
