MONTREAL, Oct. 31, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Thomas Ratté was just 17 years old when he was killed by a disabled driver after getting off a bus with a group of friends. On 11/1Sthis mother Odette Lachance will join MADD Canada and MADD Montreal to kick off 2022 Project Red Ribbon Campaign to prevent driving disabilities during the upcoming holiday season.

The holiday season is one of the busiest times on most social calendars. Project Red Ribbon reminds Canadians of the importance of always driving sober, or planning in advance for a sober journey home, when consuming alcohol, cannabis or other drugs.

At this year’s special kick-off event, the presentation of the Medal of Excellence in the fight against disabled driving to a police officer in recognition of the incredible work that has been done in arresting disabled drivers and keeping our streets and communities safe.
