Richmond Hill online gaming players charged by OPP

TORONTO, Oct. 27, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — A Richmond Hill online gaming player has been charged with two counts Cheat while gamblingcontrary to § 209 of the Penal Code of Canada.

All regulated gambling sites – including OLG.CA as well as private operator sites operated and managed by iGaming Ontario (iGO) – are required by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) to put in place monitoring systems to ensure the integrity and fairness of their games. The measures serve to detect suspected illegal activities and to protect legal players.

The charges stem from alleged illegal player activity at two OLG.CA blackjack games in May 2022. The alleged activity was observed at a “live dealer” online blackjack game operated by Evolution Gaming and subsequently brought to the attention of AGCO. Evolution Gaming is an AGCO registered live dealer games provider operated by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
